Lent is a special season in the church year set aside for reflection, penitence, and preparation for the remembrance of Jesus’s death and resurrection. It is observed starting on Ash Wednesday and continues for about 6 weeks, ending with Holy Week – Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Easter Vigil. The season culminates in the celebration of the Resurrection of Our Lord on Easter Sunday.
