Come See Us!
Gethsemane Evangelical Lutheran Church is a group of regular people whose mission is to draw all people to Christ, nurture faith, and fulfill our calling to serve. People of all ages attend worship, enjoy fellowship and faith activities, and serve one another at Gethsemane.
What are your services like?
Whether it is through the music, prayer, or preaching, God's word is at the center of all of our gatherings. Each service includes a time of prayer, preaching, and giving. Our music varies from traditional hymns to contemporary worship songs. Feel free to view one of our services on our Facebook Live page, either live at 9:00 AM on Sunday mornings or anytime!
Where should I park?
We have two parking lots: one on the south side of our building off of 9th Avenue, and one on the north side of our building off of 3rd Street. Our north parking lot has a handicapped drop-off spot right by the door, 4 handicapped parking spaces, and a wheelchair accessible door.
Where should I go when I enter the building?
On Sunday mornings, greeters are here to help you find your way!
If you enter at the purple (south) sanctuary doors, the sanctuary will be directly in front of you. To visit the church office, go down the hall to your left. These doors are locked on weekdays unless there is a special occasion.
If you enter at the glass (north) door, the sanctuary is to your left. To visit the church office, go down the hall to your right. This door is open whenever the church office is open.
There are directional signs and signs above the doors throughout the church to help you navigate the building.
Do you provide childcare?
We do not have a nursery attendant at this time. However, the nursery is available to you during all church activities. It is located on the lower level across from the Fellowship Hall.
You may also choose to take a walk down the hall from the Sanctuary to our church library, which has a children's area with age-appropriate books and a comfy chair or two.
We encourage all families to at least begin worship together. Parents can choose to keep their child with them in worship or send them to Sunday School (PreK -5th grade), which begins during worship after the Children's Message (at about 9:15) and continues until after worship.
What should I wear?
We are more interested in you and your presence with God than we are about what you wear. Most of our members wear something between a collared shirt or a dress to jeans and a nice T-shirt. On special holidays like Easter and Christmas, people tend to dress more formally. No matter what you wear, you are welcome here!
